Supports alumni of U.S. government exchange programs to implement projects in Burma advancing U.S. policy objectives in education, innovation, security, and entrepreneurship.

--- ## Description This grant opportunity is designed to empower alumni of U.S. government-funded or sponsored exchange programs to implement projects that advance U.S. policy priorities in Burma. The program aims to leverage the expertise and networks of exchange alumni to deliver tangible benefits to U.S. interests, promote American excellence, and foster long-term partnerships. Projects should align with one or more of the following priority areas: artificial intelligence and digital innovation, security and protection from transnational threats, applied education and human capital development, and entrepreneurship and market-based growth. All proposals must clearly articulate how they promote positive perceptions of the United States, advance strategic interests, and support lasting collaboration. --- ## Due Dates - May 3, 2026: Full application submission deadline (applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. GMT+6:30) --- ## Funding Amount - Award range: $5,000 to $35,000 per project - Estimated total program funding: $70,000 - Expected number of awards: 2 - Project duration: 6–12 months (must be completed within 12 months) - No cost sharing or matching is required, but it is encouraged --- ## Eligibility - Applicants must be alumni of a U.S. government-funded or sponsored exchange program (see [eligible programs](https://j1visa.state.gov/)). - Project teams must consist of at least two (2) alumni. - Alumni who are U.S. citizens cannot submit proposals but may participate as team members. - Teams may include alumni from different programs and countries. - Applications must be submitted by exchange alumni or alumni associations; alumni can partner with not-for-profit or non-governmental organizations, think tanks, or academic institutions. - For-profit entities are not eligible to apply. - Only one proposal per organization is allowed; multiple submissions from the same organization will result in ineligibility. - Organizations must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) and active registration in SAM.gov; individuals are exempt from this requirement. - Sub-contracting is allowed, but only one non-profit, non-governmental entity can be the prime recipient. **Ineligible project types include:** - Partisan political activity - Charitable/development activities or direct social services - Construction projects - Religious activities - Fundraising campaigns - Lobbying - Scientific research or surveys - Commercial projects or institutional development - Projects duplicating existing efforts - Illegal activities --- ## Application Process - Download application forms from the [U.S. Embassy Rangoon AEIF 2026 page](https://mm.usembassy.gov/aeif-2026/). - Required documents: - AEIF 2026 Proposal Form - AEIF 2026 Budget Form - SF-424 (for organizations) or SF-424-I (for individuals) - SF-424A - SF-424B (if applicable) - Submit all materials in English and budgets in U.S. dollars. - Applications must be submitted via email to: RangoonUSECA@state.gov.
