Description
The U.S. Mission to the United Nations-Geneva Small Grants Program provides funding for projects that promote U.S. policy priorities within Geneva’s multilateral environment. The program is designed to support initiatives that have a direct impact on international audiences and contribute to the advancement of U.S. interests in areas such as human rights, humanitarian response, global health, climate change, and the effectiveness of the United Nations system.
Projects should be implemented by organizations or individuals with a presence in Geneva or be carried out in Geneva itself. The program is funded through FY23 Fulbright Hays Public Diplomacy Funds and is subject to the availability of appropriated funds.

- No cost-sharing or matching requirement
Eligibility
- Open to both individuals and organizations, including:
- Not-for-profit organizations
- Think tanks
- Civil society and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs)
- Not-for-profit educational institutions
- Foreign public entities, including Public International Organizations and UN organizations
- For-profit/commercial entities are not eligible.
- Applicants must have a presence in Geneva and/or implement the project in Geneva.
- Projects must target international (not U.S.) audiences.
- Proposals are subject to U.S. Federal and Public Diplomacy regulations and may be reviewed by the Office of the Legal Adviser or other State Department elements.
Application Process

- Submit proposals electronically as instructed in the NOFO.
- Proposals are evaluated based on alignment with solicitation review criteria, U.S. foreign policy objectives, and Mission priorities.
- Awards are made subject to the availability of appropriated funds.
