    Description

The USAF Summer Faculty Fellowship Program (SFFP) provides opportunities for full-time science, mathematics, and engineering faculty at U.S. colleges and universities to conduct collaborative research at Air Force research facilities for 8–12 weeks during the summer. The program is designed to:

    • Stimulate professional relationships between academic researchers and Air Force scientists/engineers.
    • Enhance faculty research interests and capabilities.
    • Elevate awareness in the academic community of Air Force research needs and foster ongoing research at fellows' home institutions.
    • Provide hands-on, meaningful research experiences at Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Directorates, the U.S. Air Force Academy, or the Air Force Institute of Technology.

Fellows are expected to submit a final report at the conclusion of their appointment. The program especially encourages applications from faculty at Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Minority Institutions, Tribal Colleges and Universities, and Hispanic Serving Institutions.
