Description
The Plant Protection Act Section 7721 Plant Pest and Disease Management and Disaster Prevention Program (PPDMDPP), administered by USDA APHIS, provides substantial funding to support projects that address critical needs in safeguarding American agriculture and natural resources from invasive plant pests and diseases. The program focuses on early detection, rapid response, and innovative approaches to prevent and mitigate threats to specialty crops, nursery systems, forestry, and other agricultural production systems. Projects must align with one of six goal areas: survey and analysis, domestic inspection, pest identification and diagnostics, nursery production protection, outreach and education, or pest mitigation and rapid response.
