The VA MIRECC Postdoctoral Fellowship in PTSD/Trauma Research is a two-year, advanced training program based at the San Francisco VA Health Care System and affiliated with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and the Sierra Pacific MIRECC (VISN 21). The fellowship is designed to develop psychologists, allied health professionals, and MDs into leading clinical researchers in mental health, with a focus on posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma.

The program emphasizes mentored research, clinical training, and professional development through bi-monthly seminars, multi-site workshops, and ongoing biostatistical consultation. Fellows spend the majority of their time (75%) on research and educational activities, including developing and implementing research projects, publishing findings, and participating in grant writing. The remaining time (25%) is devoted to clinical training.
