Description
The Veterans Cemetery Grants Program (VCGP), administered by the VA National Cemetery Administration, provides grants to states, U.S. territories, federally recognized tribal governments, and eligible counties to establish, expand, or improve Veterans cemeteries. The goal is to ensure that 95% of Veterans have access to a burial option within 75 miles of their home, especially in areas not fully served by VA national cemeteries. The program covers up to 100% of development costs for approved projects, excluding land acquisition, and may also fund necessary equipment for new cemeteries. Funded cemeteries must comply with federal regulations, including the Build America, Buy America Act, and adhere to VA standards for site selection, planning, and construction.
