--- ## Description This European Commission call funds research and innovation projects aimed at developing innovative approaches to valorise untapped and underutilised forest biomass across Europe. The objective is to create new value chains and business models for converting such biomass—often low-value or residual—into bio-based chemicals, materials, and products, moving beyond traditional bioenergy and biofuel uses. Projects should integrate new planning tools, technologies, and logistics solutions for harvesting, storage, and pre-treatment, with a focus on decentralised, mobile, or small-scale approaches suitable for diverse regional and business contexts. Proposals must also address environmental sustainability, soil and biodiversity safeguards, carbon retention, and stakeholder engagement, while providing recommendations for EU carbon farming certification methodologies.
