This grant is designed to support early-career faculty who are beginning independent research in value assessment and health outcomes research (VA-HOR) at accredited U.S. universities. The program encourages research proposals that address challenges and solutions for evaluating the delivery, safety, effectiveness, and value—clinical, patient-centered, and economic—of medicines and other healthcare interventions. Projects may include empirical analyses or methodological studies in areas such as clinical outcomes assessments, patient-reported outcomes, health preferences research, real-world data analysis, health equity, value measurement, decision and communication tools, patient-centered value frameworks, and empirical health policy research.
A key requirement is the incorporation of active, meaningful, and collaborative patient engagement throughout the research process. Proposals that do not engage patients, caregivers, or clinicians will be considered unresponsive.
