The AO VET North America (AO VET NA) preceptorship program offers surgical residents enrolled in an American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) residency the opportunity to undertake a short-term, hands-on training experience at a host surgical center. Participants work closely with AO VET NA faculty experts, gaining direct exposure to advanced techniques in veterinary trauma and orthopedic surgery—including fracture management, multiple trauma care, osteotomies, joint replacement, and arthrodeses. The program is designed to deepen expertise in AO techniques and familiarize residents with the planning, indications, and pitfalls of osteosynthesis.
