The Virtual DUSS Scholars Program, run by the University of Alberta’s Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies (CIUS), offers a six-month virtual residency for up to five Ukrainian scholars per cycle. The program aims to support scholars whose academic careers have been disrupted by war, by providing financial assistance, mentorship, and opportunities to engage with the UAlberta scholarly community. Scholars are paired with mentors in related fields and are encouraged to participate in scholarly activities such as conference presentations, public talks, roundtable discussions, and online sessions. The initiative strengthens academic and cultural ties between Ukrainian and Canadian institutions and helps scholars promote their work to both Canadian and international audiences.
