Description
The Oakley Center Fellowship Program at Williams College is designed to create a vibrant and collaborative environment for research in the humanities and social sciences. The program offers several types of fellowships:
- Resident Fellowships for Williams faculty (on leave), professional scholars, and select faculty from neighboring institutions.
- Clark/Oakley Humanities Fellowship for national and international scholars, in partnership with the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute.
- Senior Fellowships for Williams emeritus faculty.
- Ruchman Fellowships for Williams seniors undertaking independent or honors research projects.
Fellows receive office space at the Oakley Center, access to a dynamic intellectual community, and opportunities for interdisciplinary engagement. Resident Fellows participate in weekly forums and may engage in additional Center activities. Special distinctions, such as the Herbert H. Lehman Fellowship, provide further recognition and support for outstanding research proposals.
