Description
The Oakley Center Fellowship Program at Williams College is designed to foster a dynamic intellectual community for research in the humanities and social sciences. The program offers several fellowship types:
- Resident Fellowships: For Williams College faculty and professional scholars, including Oakley Center Fellows, Clark/Oakley Humanities Fellows, Senior Fellows, and Visiting Fellows. Fellows are provided with office space, administrative support, and participate in weekly forums and interdisciplinary activities.
- Ruchman Fellowships: For Williams College students, particularly seniors pursuing research related to independent study or honors theses, with a focus on those intending to pursue graduate study and academic careers.
The program encourages projects with interdisciplinary or collaborative components and gives special recognition (and additional funding) to exceptional proposals, such as the Herbert H. Lehman Fellows.
