The Visiting Senior Fellowships provide scholars with a two-month residency at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts (CASVA), located within the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Fellows are provided with office space in the East Building, housing (subject to availability), and access to the extensive resources of the National Gallery and the wider Washington area. The program fosters a vibrant scholarly community, encouraging participation in lectures, colloquia, and discussions, and supports interdisciplinary research in the history, theory, and criticism of the visual arts from any period or geographical area. The fellowship is designed to enable full-time, uninterrupted research and to contribute to the analysis and interpretation of visual art or visual culture.
