Launched in 2023, the Sundance Institute | The Walt Disney Studios Artist Fellowship is a year-round initiative providing career and artist-focused support to a select group of filmmakers. Sundance Institute administers the fellowship with support from The Walt Disney Studios. Its primary goal is to position participating artists for potential work within the Walt Disney Studios system.
The fellowship combines a non-recoupable artist grant with mentorship, industry networking, and a specially curated Sundance Film Festival experience. It is part of Sundance Institute’s Artist Accelerator Program, which provides financial, creative, and tactical support to emerging and mid-career storytellers navigating a changing creative and economic landscape. The program’s year-long fellowships offer opportunities to build community, receive bespoke project support, access funding, and grow professionally.
