Description
The Artist Accelerator Program at Sundance Institute is designed to empower emerging and mid-career artists working in independent storytelling. Since its inception in 2021, the program has offered yearlong fellowships, project advancement and completion grants, and individualized mentorship. With an artist-first approach, it supports a diverse array of creators through non-recoupable grants, professional development, and community-building. The program also advances field-wide impact by collaborating with peer organizations and public agencies, and by developing initiatives that promote access, equity, and sustainability within the independent storytelling ecosystem. Special emphasis is placed on supporting innovative storytelling methods, including the intersection of art and AI, and on standardizing application processes across the field.
