    Description

    The Washington Applied Sustainability Internship (WASI) is a competitive, full-time summer program connecting undergraduate students in engineering, chemistry, sustainability, and environmental sciences with Washington State businesses. Interns work on real-world projects to research and implement pollution prevention strategies such as safer chemical alternatives, waste reduction, energy and water conservation, emissions reduction, and process efficiency improvements. The program is administered by Washington Sea Grant and the Washington State Department of Ecology, with support from the EPA Pollution Prevention Grant. Interns benefit from mentorship, technical guidance, and valuable project management experience, while host businesses gain actionable sustainability solutions.
