This program provides financial support to Iowa County Conservation Boards for the acquisition and development of lands specifically for wildlife habitat. Funding is available for both land acquisition and a variety of habitat development projects, including tree and shrub plantings, grass seedings, water-control structures, fencing, and timber stand improvement. The overarching goal is to enhance, protect, and develop wildlife habitats across the state by enabling local entities to implement effective conservation activities. Lands acquired or developed through this grant must remain open to hunting and compatible outdoor recreation.
