Description
This funding opportunity supports a cooperative agreement for monitoring wood stork reproduction and foraging in Lake Okeechobee and its Core Foraging Areas (CFAs), in response to hydrologic changes under the Lake Okeechobee System Operating Manual (LOSOM). The wood stork is a federally listed threatened species, and this project aims to collect field data, evaluate reproductive success, and provide recommendations for ecosystem management to support and protect wood stork populations. The work will involve collaboration with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and other stakeholders.
