Description
Wyoming State Parks, Historic Sites and Trails offers Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grants for trail-related projects throughout Wyoming. The grants are administered through the Federal Highway Administration and funded by federal gas taxes paid on fuel used in off-highway vehicles. The program connects that revenue to public recreational trail opportunities across the state.
The 2025 non-motorized RTP cycle supported maintenance, construction, restoration and repair of trails and trailhead facilities, including non-motorized winter trail grooming projects. The FY 2027 program page describes its scope more broadly as trail-related projects statewide.
