Description
The Youth Mini-Grants Program is run through the Wayne County Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee. It provides educational and funding opportunities while introducing young people to the work of a community foundation and the potential of philanthropy. Through cooperative leadership and financial support, the committee seeks to help youth improve their community.
The program supports projects benefiting elementary and secondary age students in Wayne County schools and community groups. Eligible activities include special classroom projects planned by students, extracurricular activities such as student newspapers and special sports, arts-related projects, and other community-related projects. The emphasis is on school- or student-oriented work undertaken by groups rather than individuals.
