This funding opportunity, administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), aims to support communities in implementing or improving comprehensive systems to address youth homelessness. Two programs are included: the Youth Homelessness System Improvement (YHSI) grants and the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP). Both are designed to demonstrate how coordinated, community-based strategies can significantly reduce homelessness among youth aged 24 and under. Funding may support a range of projects addressing not only housing, but also services for chronic health and mental health needs, substance use disorders, domestic violence, childhood abuse, and barriers to employment. Technical assistance will be available for selected grantees, and participation in evaluation activities is expected.
