    Description

The Zip Books program enables California public libraries to quickly purchase and deliver books requested by patrons that are not available in their local collections. The program is designed to expand access to library materials, streamline acquisitions, and build collections that directly reflect community interests. Libraries purchase requested books from qualified vendors and have them shipped directly to the patron’s home. Once returned, these items are added to the library’s collection. The program emphasizes resource sharing, community engagement, and efficient delivery of library services, with a focus on supporting rural, low-income, and underserved communities.
