Description
Santa Barbara Foundation’s Child Care Grants strengthen nonprofit child care providers and the direct-service organizations that support them in Santa Barbara County. The program serves children ages birth to five and their families, responding to a shortage of child care spaces, particularly for infants and toddlers. It supports the foundation’s Child Care Initiative and aligns with the Santa Barbara County Child Care Facilities Master Plan for 2025–2030.
Projects focus on educator workforce development, organizational sustainability, or family engagement and inclusive practice. Supported work includes training and credentialing, coaching, leadership development, operational improvements, educator retention and wellbeing, and strategies that strengthen relationships with families. Priorities include equitable access for underserved families, services for diverse and high-need children, and partnerships that improve service delivery.
