Description
CUNY’s 2026 Interdisciplinary Research Grant supports original research under the theme “Reimagining Communities for an Aging Urban Society.” The program seeks innovative, scalable, human-centered approaches to how older people live, access care, participate in community life, and shape the environments and systems affecting their well-being. Projects must incorporate aging people’s perspectives through field surveys or existing literature.
The program brings together expertise across sciences, engineering, health, social sciences, design, humanities, and performing arts. Its broad scope includes housing, accessibility, health equity, care delivery, social systems, culture, and public policy. It encourages work with societal benefits, external funding potential, or intellectual property outcomes. Projects need not align with a specific external partner, country, technology, or funding source.
