Description
This grant program, administered by the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE), funds nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations to implement evidence-based, abstinence-until-marriage education and mentoring programs for youth ages 10–19 in priority areas across South Carolina. The initiative is designed to support interventions and curricula that have been rigorously evaluated and shown to benefit youth, families, and communities—particularly in counties with the highest teen pregnancy rates. Programs must be certified to meet Title V, Section 510 A-H definitions of Abstinence Education and be in compliance with the South Carolina Comprehensive Health Education Act when implemented in schools.
