Description
The AAST Sprint Grant is designed to accelerate high-impact, multicenter studies in trauma and acute care surgery that have the potential to change clinical practice. The grant prioritizes research that advances beyond simple association, focusing on rigorous causal inference to inform and improve patient care. Projects employing quasi-experimental designs, such as interrupted time series, difference-in-differences, or stepped-wedge approaches, are strongly encouraged. Innovative, fully developed proposals outside the listed priorities are also welcome if they are ready to launch.
Funding can be used for research infrastructure, including IRB fees, biostatistical support, data collection, and per-site costs, but cannot be used for PI or co-investigator salary support (except for biostatistics).
