Description
The American Head and Neck Society (AHNS) and American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Foundation (AAO-HNSF) jointly support contemporary basic and clinical research on head and neck neoplastic disease. This career development award promotes novel translational research, preferably incorporating biomarker ideas, directed toward disease pathogenesis, pathophysiology, diagnosis, prevention, or treatment.
The program aims to develop productive, independent investigators in head and neck surgical oncology through research and educational activities. Projects should yield useful information during the award period. Priority goes to innovative work with potential to become a long-range or expanded research program attracting further support. Proposals introducing knowledge or methods from other disciplines, and collaborations with related disciplines, are encouraged but not required.
