Description
The Wyoming State Forestry Division offers these grants in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service to improve urban and community forests across Wyoming. The partnership supports three kinds of work: large-scale tree planting, community forestry program development and education, and scholarships for educational programs. Tree planting funding comes from the federal National Urban and Community Forestry program.
Projects are intended to expand local forestry efforts, not replace existing funding. Program development examples include tree-care workshops, inventories, management plans, interpretive signs, training materials, and community forestry interns. Scholarship examples include the Wyoming Tree Academy and the Municipal Forestry Institute.
