Description
The American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) runs DREAM—Driving Recruitment through Education and Mentoring—to reduce barriers and develop the next generation of medical physicists. Supported by the AAPM Education & Research Fund, the program combines a 10-week, in-person summer research experience with personalized guidance, professional development, and a supportive network encouraging graduate study in medical physics.
Selected undergraduates choose among approved mentors and institutions in the United States and Canada. Projects may involve research, evaluation of software or hardware, or data collection and analysis within larger clinical or research projects. The fellowship is not a clinical practicum, and students should not perform clinical work. Fellows may also attend the 2027 AAPM Annual Meeting in Columbus, Ohio.
