    Description

The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), within the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs, funds community-based treatment programs serving youth with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. The program focuses on youth who are at risk of entering, or have already been involved in, the juvenile justice system.

Funding supports developing or expanding cross-system approaches that improve access to treatment and other support services, address youth needs, and prevent reoffending and recidivism. Projects may enhance existing services and develop strategies, partnerships, and processes to identify youth needing treatment, improve referrals, and increase access to community services. Diversion from justice-system processing is also an objective, where appropriate.
