Description
The 2026 Homebuyer Development Open Funding Round, administered by New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) via the Housing Trust Fund Corporation (HTFC), provides approximately $20 million to expand the supply of affordable, safe, and decent housing for low- and moderate-income households across New York State. Funding supports the development, acquisition, rehabilitation, or new construction of homes to be sold to income-eligible buyers, as well as direct homeownership assistance and tenant-based rental assistance. The program emphasizes compliance with federal and state property standards, long-term affordability, and equitable access to sustainable homeownership.
