Description
The Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation funds research focused on pleural and/or peritoneal mesothelioma. Its peer-reviewed grant program supports work on novel therapies, screening and early detection, risk assessment and prognosis, treatment resistance, and the biology and etiology of the disease.
The 2026 areas of interest also include personalizing treatment through predictive biomarkers and attention to gender and racial differences; monitoring and managing immune-mediated complications of immunotherapy; and assessing health-related quality of life. Quality-of-life topics include social determinants of health, side effect management, mental health care, and patient or caregiver outcomes.
