Description
The National Institutes of Health’s Disability Health Research Program (DHRP) runs this prize competition to recognize promising and established investigators for outstanding contributions to disability health research. DHRP is part of the Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives in the NIH Office of the Director. The prize supports NIH’s goal of fostering a skilled, multidisciplinary workforce focused on the health and well-being of people with disabilities.
The competition recognizes innovative and significant research, particularly work that bridges disciplines, sectors, or institutions and engages disabled people throughout the research process. It honors early stage and midcareer investigators poised to lead the field, as well as a senior investigator whose sustained work has had exceptional impact.
