Description
The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), within the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs, funds programs for children, youth, and families affected by opioid, stimulant, and other substance use disorders. The initiative supports prevention, intervention, and treatment strategies aimed at reducing violent crime and preventing overdose deaths, particularly among families at risk for or already involved in child welfare or justice systems.
Projects are expected to collaborate with law enforcement, juvenile and criminal justice agencies, schools, mental health and child welfare providers, community health agencies, and community-based organizations. The program also emphasizes integrated services for parents and children that promote family stability, treatment, and sustained recovery.
