Description
The Brazilian Women in Chemistry Awards are a joint initiative of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and Sociedade Brasileira de Química (SBQ), sponsored by ACS and ACS Publications. Presented annually since 2018, the awards recognize women scientists whose outstanding work in chemistry and related sciences demonstrates the impact of diversity on scientific research.
Three categories recognize emerging leaders, industry leaders, and established academic leaders. Recognition extends beyond research to teaching, student mentoring, science communication, outreach, and efforts to advance gender equity. The industry category emphasizes research and creative innovation that contribute to commercial success and benefit society and the planet. The academic category recognizes established contributions with significant global and social impact. ACS and SBQ jointly evaluate nominations.
