The Bureau of Justice Assistance’s FY 2026 Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) for State Prisoners Formula Grants Program supports treatment for adult and juvenile populations in detention or incarceration. It provides formula funding to enhance state, local, and tribal governments’ capacity to deliver residential substance use disorder treatment, initiate or continue evidence-based treatment in jails, and prepare individuals for reintegration into the community.
The program seeks to increase treatment access for individuals with substance use disorders or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. It also supports continuity of care during and after reentry through community-based treatment, recovery aftercare, and other broad-based aftercare services for individuals and their communities.
