Description

Co-sponsored by the Chesapeake Bay Commission and the Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania Sea Grant programs, this annual fellowship places one graduate-level fellow with the Commission. The Commission works with legislators in all three states on policies affecting the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed, participates in the Chesapeake Bay Program partnership, and advises Congress on Bay restoration needs.

The fellow surveys scientific findings, researches state and federal policy, helps plan Commission meetings, and supports regional activities and state policy proposals. Working with the Executive Director, the fellow also selects, completes, and presents a capstone project aligned with Commission priorities and their own skills and research interests. The participating Sea Grant programs offer networking events and skill-building workshops.
