Description
The Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP), administered by the Alabama Department of Agriculture & Industries (ADAI), provides funding for projects that enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops in Alabama. Supported by the USDA, the program aims to strengthen Alabama’s specialty crop sector—including fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, nursery crops, floriculture, and turf type grasses—by advancing research, education, marketing, food safety, pest and disease management, and sustainability initiatives. Proposals must demonstrate broad industry or public benefit and measurable outcomes, not just serve the applicant organization.
