Description
The American Society of Naturalists (ASN) Student Research Awards support student researchers worldwide whose work advances the society’s goal of conceptually unifying ecology, evolution, or behavior. Laboratory, field, and theoretical projects are encouraged. The program supports the next generation of biologists through research funding and ASN’s broader commitment to mentoring.
Projects are assessed for originality, the strength and significance of their research questions, prospects for significant results, and alignment with ASN’s mission. Past winning proposals clearly identify an interesting or important need in ecology or evolution and explain how the proposed work will address it. ASN provides annotated examples of successful proposals to help applicants understand these strengths.
