Description
The Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine & Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU) funds clinical research addressing important problems and gaps in knowledge about bladder, pelvic floor, and voiding conditions. Suggested topics include underactive bladder, overactive bladder, interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome, benign prostatic hyperplasia, pelvic floor dysfunction, neural control of voiding, pelvic organ prolapse, and incontinence.
The program seeks projects that can improve scientific knowledge, technical capability, or clinical practice and advance treatment, educational practice, or urology training. A SUFU-designated committee reviews proposals through a standard peer-review process, considering significance, investigator qualifications and mentorship, innovation, research approach, and institutional environment. Awardees must share completed research through submission for presentation at an Annual SUFU meeting and for publication in Neurourology and Urodynamics.
