Description
This grant supports the planning and development of district and school improvement plans for the 2026–27 academic year, as required under Section 1003 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). Funding is allocated to eligible local education agencies (LEAs) and schools in New York State that have been newly identified as Target Districts or have schools moving from Local Support and Improvement (LSI) status to Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) status. The purpose is to enable robust, data-driven planning activities—including staff and family engagement, needs assessments, regional training, and support from BOCES or approved third-party providers—to drive continuous improvement and meet federal requirements.
