2026 Tribal Project Development Grants support Tribes in Oregon with salmon recovery and conservation planning, project design, cultural resources review, and effectiveness monitoring to advance projects.

Description
The Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board (OWEB) offers these targeted, non-competitive grants to help Tribes advance salmon recovery and conservation projects. Launched in 2024, the program funds early project work rather than restoration or land acquisition. It draws on federal Pacific Coastal Salmon Recovery Funds and Oregon Lottery funds.
Supported work includes participation in salmon recovery and conservation planning, project development incorporating Indigenous Knowledge, management of project design, and project effectiveness monitoring. Grants may also support cultural resources review associated with the approved Programmatic Agreement between OWEB, NOAA, and SHPO.
