    Description

NOAA’s National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) administers this Broad Agency Announcement as a mechanism for supporting research, education, outreach, innovative projects, and sponsorships not addressed through NOAA’s competitive discretionary programs. Proposed work must address one or more NOAA mission areas, including weather, oceans, Earth systems, coasts, ecosystem stewardship, and information supporting commerce and transportation. Sponsorships may include conferences and newsletters; the announcement does not solicit goods or services for NOAA’s direct benefit.

The announcement also accepts Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) projects. These support applied environmental and cultural resource research, technical assistance, and education for stewardship and decision-making concerning public lands and trust resources. Funding depends on available appropriations and the statutory authority applicable to each proposed activity.
