The Stanford Next Asia Policy Lab (SNAPL) and the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT) jointly offer one postdoctoral fellowship beginning in fall quarter 2027. The fellowship focuses on scientific policy and the internationalization of higher education and research in the Asia-Pacific. Preference is given to projects that directly or indirectly engage with Swedish perspectives, with research plans encompassing solo and collaborative, co-authored publications.
SNAPL is housed at Stanford’s Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center and directed by Professor Gi-Wook Shin. It addresses emerging social, cultural, economic, and political challenges in Asia through interdisciplinary, problem-oriented, policy-relevant, and comparative research. Fellows gain access to Stanford research facilities and opportunities to participate in events at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and elsewhere on campus.
