    Description

NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), through its Fisheries Headquarters Program Office, uses this Broad Agency Announcement to support extramural research, education, outreach, innovative projects, and sponsorships not addressed by NOAA’s competitive discretionary programs. Sponsorships may include conferences and newsletters. The announcement does not solicit goods or services for NOAA’s direct benefit.

Projects must connect to NOAA’s mission, with Fisheries priorities emphasizing sustainable and economically competitive fisheries and the conservation and recovery of protected species. Relevant work includes fisheries science, habitat adaptation and restoration, modernized data technologies, seafood-sector resilience, aquaculture, and efforts against illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing. The announcement also supports Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) projects in applied environmental and cultural resource research, technical assistance, and education for public-land and trust-resource stewardship.
