The Stanford Next Asia Policy Lab (SNAPL), housed at the Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center at Stanford University and directed by Professor Gi-Wook Shin, offers two postdoctoral fellowships beginning in fall quarter 2027. The lab addresses emerging social, cultural, economic, and political challenges in Asia through interdisciplinary, problem-oriented, policy-relevant, and comparative studies and publications.
The fellowship combines individual research with close collaboration among lab members across four themes: Talent Flows and Development, Nationalism and Racism, U.S.-Asia Relations, and Democratic Crisis and Reform. All tracks are open, with economic security research under U.S.-Asia Relations especially welcome. Each fellow will lead a thematic collaborative research group, contribute to research and publications, and support SNAPL student programming.
