Description
The Research Council of Finland’s Academy Project scheme supports individual research teams and consortia pursuing high-quality, groundbreaking research across all fields. Projects should address clear research questions with scientifically sound approaches and the potential to advance knowledge and create conditions for breakthroughs. Novelty may lie in the topic, questions, combinations of fields or approaches, or methods developed.
The call also seeks ambitious but credible research designs that identify uncertainty, manage risk and are carried out responsibly. It aims to strengthen teams’ scientific and methodological expertise, researcher training and mentoring, and research environments that support creative work. Funding primarily supports research team salaries and direct project costs, including cooperation and researcher mobility in Finland and internationally.
