Description
The Research Council of Finland’s Academy Research Fellowship supports early-career researchers on fast career tracks through high-quality, innovative and ambitious research. It aims to strengthen and renew research expertise in Finland, integrate researchers into Finnish research communities, and advance research with scientific and societal impact. All research fields are welcome, including researchers working independently without a team.
Projects should advance the applicant’s career and scientific, methodological and professional competence while building independence, supervision and leadership skills. Research should be internationally competitive for the applicant’s career stage, address clear questions using scientifically sound methods, and demonstrate credible implementation and risk management. Novelty may come from research topics, questions, combinations of fields or approaches, or methodological development. International cooperation and cross-sectoral mobility can support competence development.
