Description
The Department of War Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) program, managed by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) in partnership with the Army Research Office (ARO) and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), funds multidisciplinary teams at U.S. universities to pursue high-impact, basic research addressing complex scientific and engineering problems relevant to national defense. MURI projects foster collaboration across scientific disciplines and aim to generate fundamental breakthroughs that support future Department of War (DoW) capabilities. The program also contributes to developing a technically advanced, defense-aware scientific workforce in the United States.
