Description
The Graton Fellowship is administered by Sundance Institute’s Indigenous Program with support from the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. It cultivates a platform for artists from federally and nonfederally recognized California Native tribes to tell their stories through film. The fellowship supports narrative features and feature-length documentaries in development or production, addressing the underrepresentation of California Native perspectives on and behind the screen.
Two selected fellows receive cash grants alongside a yearlong continuum of support. This includes creative mentorship from Indigenous Program staff, access to creative and professional development opportunities, Sundance Collab access, and support to attend the Sundance Film Festival.
