    Description

The Botanical Society of America’s Guido Girolami Award in Botany honors a senior scientist whose career demonstrates creative and influential scholarship in any area of botany within the Society’s scope and mission. Rather than funding a new research project, it recognizes a substantial body of novel botanical research with national or international impact. One recipient is selected annually by the Girolami Award Committee.

The recipient is recognized at the annual Botany meeting and receives an award supporting conference attendance while honoring their achievements. They are expected to present a special lecture at the following year’s annual meeting, framing their research for a general botanical audience. Nominations from outside the United States are encouraged.
